Full-Time Director, Learning and Development

Job Description

Audax is seeking a Learning and Development Director with substantial experience in the strategy, design and delivery of learning and development programs in global professional services. The individual will partner senior team stakeholders within the private equity business to ensure that our learning and development curriculum supports the capabilities and leadership skills required to execute Audax’ strategy and vision. The role will be based in Boston and will work closely across the private equity team.

Assignment Summary

The individual will drive learning and development across the private equity investment team working closely with the senior team and human capital team to assess key competencies, interpersonal skills and leadership skills required to succeed at each level. The role will facilitate the execution of our onboarding curriculum for Analysts and Associates as well as refine and drive ongoing learning and development. It will assess the key capabilities and competencies required through our professional development progression from Senior Associate through Managing Director, identify our needs and develop curriculum with internal and external resources. The learning and development curriculum will include a combination of cohort series programming and bespoke individual coaching.

Duties to include (but are not limited to):

• Collaborate with senior team and subject matter experts to determine skills gaps/learning needs, design/develop high quality learning materials, and partner with internal and external resources to manage the content production
• Identify content gaps and recommend an annual content plan, proposing modules to upgrade, and new content to develop
• Lead and manage the design process of learning projects, conducting needs analyses, and creating the design documentation, including instructional method, delivery vehicle, content and timing
• Consult with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to develop course content, building required content (e.g., PowerPoint decks, activities, case, facilitator and participant guides).
• Work with vendors to create/contextualize externally developed content for Audax
• Structure learning programs as appropriate to include advanced leadership, communications, and professional development topics
• Develop a stable of external resources for content development and delivery to compliment internal subject matter experts
• Increase experiential learning opportunities, balancing traditional classroom learning with the 3E (experience, exposure, education) learning model and new learning technologies
• Build capabilities through a range of learning options including face to face experiential programs, apprenticeship, coaching, mentoring, and self-directed digital content

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required; 15+ years’ experience in Training, Learning & Development or Organizational Development roles
• Familiarity and understanding of private equity preferred
• Facilitate learning in both classroom and virtual environments, managing the event while teaming with colleagues to push the participants to deepen their knowledge/skill development.
• Platform skills, strong training or performance consultant background
• Breadth of experience in needs assessment, adult learning theories, instructional design, and evaluation tools and techniques, with proven experience in practical application
• Strong record of operational excellence and ability to move work forward in a matrix environment
• Proven experience in organizational change management
• Strong project management and leadership skills
• Interest in and exposure to emerging learning technologies and approaches, e.g., mobile, social, virtual, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field required. Advanced degree strongly preferred
