An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and strategic thinking Director of Estates Management.

Shared Education Services (SharED) is part of one of the country’s largest colleges – The City of Liverpool College Group. With a turnover of c.£40m annually, the College Group services c.15,000 learners each year from a diverse variety of backgrounds. With state-of-the-art facilities, TEF Gold status for Higher Education provision and an excellent purpose-built estate across the city, the College is home to ground breaking innovation and involved in a wide variety of exciting new developments across the city and the wider educational landscape.

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Director of Estates Management. This is a senior post holder role playing a key part in both the development and implementation of a new estates/property strategy and delivering an integrated and professional estates and facilities management service across all College Centres. The post holder will play a leading role in working with both colleagues internally at all levels and externally with consultant advisors to bring about state of the art world-class teaching and learning facilities.

The post holder will need a wide blend of skills and expertise including a background in estates, facilities, health & safety and contract management to enable them to effectively manage these areas. Strong budget management and best value procurement experience will be key to the role.  In addition, they will need expertise and understanding of a project management environment and working with design team consultants.

You must hold a relevant professional qualification in a buildings or facilities management discipline with excellent knowledge of current health and safety legislation. You will have the ability to demonstrate a successful record of managing estates, facilities and health and safety, coupled with experience of contractor management and contract negotiations, including contracted out negotiations
