JOB FAMILY DESCRIPTION

Manages life cycle product planning activities and high-quality, Value add, delivery of Black Knight new products, enhancements, and releases to market. Defines roadmap to meet market requirements in support of product strategy. Participates in the management of product profitability, pricing strategies, client satisfaction, and sales success rate. Prov ides oversight and prioritization in the analysis of business and user needs, documentation of requirements, and translation into proper system requirement specifications.

GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors the work of team, providing technical and analytical support and direction. Interfaces with external clients or field-based employees on technical matters as needed.
  • Manages backlog by ensuring changes in market, business priorities including integration needs, and technology advancements are reflected. Presents status updates as needed.
  • Demonstrates leadership by establishing and articulating a clear vision of success and how goals and objectives will be achieved.
  • Prepares and product backlog delivery plans. Identifies risks and challenges, opportunities and growth strategies, business integration needs, and retirement plans.
  • Prepares and presents product roadmap reviews as well as providing product’s general strategic direction. Acts as Voice of the customer to articulate value proposition
  • Uses knowledge of systems and industry requirements to identify development needs or systems modifications.
  • Manages delivery and release schedule in alignment with financial goals and company’s processes
  • Understands product’s profit and loss statement. May be responsible for revenue and profitability of assigned products.
  • Provides content for product roadmaps, ensures timely delivery, and provides business reasons for any changes/revisions made to roadmaps.
  • Engages and interacts with clients during feedback sessions, focus groups, user groups, and requirements gathering sessions, as needed.
  • Practices open and honest communications with all stakeholders. Acts as servant leader to the organization, may mentor guide and advise on the work of others
  • Acts as product launch manager when appropriate for new products or rollouts of major releases.
  • Collaborates with senior management to provide content for market messages, sales collateral, and as needed RFPs (request for proposal).
  • Participates in the completion of business scope documents, defines, and records user personas for individual products.
  • Oversees the delivery of continuous and effective services and ensures completion within budget and in accordance with requirements contractual or other
  • Manages technical and business work items and may be responsible for oversight of vendors and subcontractors.
  • Leads teams in the delivery of outsourced solutions to the client. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function as needed
  • Identifies areas where continuous improvement can be applied, implements the change, and measures the level of improvement.
  • May manage vendor relationships key to product delivery.
  • Collaborates with vendor support managers for oversight and maintenance of all secondary and support vendor relationships as needed
  • Collaborates across the organization to identify and coordinate product dependencies
  • Coordinates and facilitates pilot activities acting as primary contact with client, securing pilot agreement, and monitoring progress.
  • Determines success criteria and recommends “go / no go” decision.
  • May act as escalation point for client issues that require product change resolution.
  • May participate in the determination and approval of service level agreements (SLAs) related to products
  • Works closely with development teams to review enhancement requests for strategic value and align resources to high priority project.
  • Presents product information and industry thought leadership to external audiences in webinars and client conferences as needed
  • Provides presentations to clients during business reviews, prospect briefings, and internal group meetings.
  • May require up to 25% travel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL GUIDELINES

Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, product marketing, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with Black Knight products supported preferred
  • Requires general business skills, industry knowledge, financial management and planning skills, long-term vision, and executive presence effective presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of financial services industry and associated products or B2B software products
  • Knowledge of end-to-end systems development life cycles (i.e., waterfall, iterative and other modern approaches to software development) with emphasis on Lean-Agile development
  • Proficiency in business modeling and requirements definition disciplines
  • Excellent skills in communicating ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise, and professional manner across various levels of the organization and varying areas of focus
  • Ability to utilize judgment in decision making process and decisions related to job tasks
  • Relationship management skills, understanding and focusing on stakeholder needs, establishing credibility, and building positive, professional, relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Requires strong time management skills, attention to detail, and must be resourceful
  • Analytical, problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large and/or complex initiatives (i.e., involving many activities and deliverables or that have a major impact risk/value to the organization)

  • Broad understanding of modern technical development frameworks and strategies (i.e.: API First, Design Thinking, Mobile First, BDD, TDD)

ST Product Manager III

Advanced professional role that orchestrates the coordination of activities for one or more agile teams focused on the delivery of value for one (1) complex product or multiple products. Responsible for delivering results; may include analysis, research, documentation, and prioritization of work. Receives assignments in the form of a backlog with the objective to achieve goals. Works under little to no supervision and exercises independent judgment. Provides guidance to team members within latitude of established departmental policies and standards. Recommends and influences changes to procedures affecting team. Mentors junior members of the team. Follows established processes and best practices in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Senior advisor to team members in understanding priorities and strategic direction. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning product s and/or clients. Monitors and influences the delivery of value including product revenue and profitability through client relations, sales and marketing, IT, client services, product support and/or professional services organizations. Typically requires greater than (5) years of Agile product owner, business, technical analysis, or consulting experience. Mortgage, Financial or SaaS domain or other equivalent experience preferred.
